Auf dieser Aufnahme spielt der Pianist Abdullah Ibrahim acht seiner Kompositionen mit dem Posaunisten Robin Eubanks, John Stubblefield an Tenorsaxophon und Flöte, Horace Alexander Young, der zwischen Sopransaxophon, Altsaxophon und Piccoloflöte wechselt, Howard Johnson an Tuba, Baritonsaxophon und Trompete, dem Bassisten Buster Williams und dem Schlagzeuger Brian Adams.

Rezeption

Scott Yanow verlieh dem Album in Allmusic vier Sterne und bezeichnete es als hervorragendes Werk; es würde sich durch farbenfrohes Ensemblespiel und die oft unvergesslichen Kompositionen auszeichnen. Zu den Höhepunkten zählten die Stücke „African River“, „Sweet Samba“, „Duke 88“ und eine wunderschöne Version von „The Wedding“.[2]
