IC 149 ist eine Spiralgalaxie mit ausgedehnten Sternentstehungsgebieten vom Hubble-Typ S im Sternbild Walfisch südlich der Ekliptik. Sie ist schätzungsweise 246 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 80.000 Lj.

Das Objekt wurde am 7. Dezember 1893 vom französischen Astronomen Stéphane Javelle entdeckt.[4]
