NGC 5037 ist eine Spiralgalaxie vom Hubble-Typ Sa im Sternbild Jungfrau auf der Ekliptik. Sie ist schätzungsweise 78 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt.

Im selben Himmelsareal befinden sich u. a. die Galaxien NGC 5030, NGC 5035, NGC 5044, NGC 5047.

Das Objekt wurde am 31. Dezember 1785 vom deutsch-britischen Astronomen Wilhelm Herschel mit einem 18,7-Zoll-Spiegelteleskop entdeckt, der sie dabei mit „F, lE, 1.5′ long“[4] beschrieb.[5]
