Angamarca es una parroquia ubicado en la vertiente del Pacífico de la cordillera occidental de los Andes, en la provincia de Cotopaxi, Ecuador, y que contiene el pueblo del mismo nombre. Conocido como el "Nido de Cóndores" ("anga" significa "condor" en Quichua),[1] Angamarca es ubicado en la cuenca del Río Guambaine, rodeado por páramos, formaciones rocosas como El Chivo, potreros, tierra cultivada, y bosque secundario. Angamarca es la ultima refugia conocida del jambato negro.[2]
