Un puits de mensonges (France) ou Radio Bart (Québec) (Radio Bart) est le 12e épisode de la saison 3 de la série télévisée d'animation Les Simpson.

Synopsis

Pour son anniversaire, Bart reçoit un micro lui permettant de parler à distance avec une radio. Il s'en sert pour faire des blagues. Il fait croire qu'un petit garçon nommé Timmy O'Toole est coincé dans un puits. Toute la ville se mobilise alors pour le petit : une chanson est créée, une fête est organisée... Le garçon est alors érigé en héros. Mais Lisa découvre le pot aux roses. Bart, s'étant rappelé qu'il a mis son nom sur la radio, part la récupérer au fond du puits. Mais sa tentative échoue et la ville entière découvre le mensonge. Les Springfieldiens décident alors de le laisser toute sa vie dans le puits. N'y tenant plus, Homer décide de sortir Bart du puits bientôt suivi par une partie de la ville. Une fois Bart libéré, le puits est condamné pour éviter un nouvel incident.

  • Au cours de l'épisode on peut voir de nombreuses références au film de Billy Wilder Le Gouffre aux chimères, film dont l'intrigue de cet épisode s'inspire en partie.
  • Le coup fait par Bart est une parodie de la radiodiffusion de La Guerre des mondes, incluant la citation « Toute résistance est inutile ».
  • Lorsque toutes les personnes importantes de Springfield chantent « Nous envoyons tout notre amour au fond du puits », c'est en réalité une parodie du titre We are the World. On remarque également Krusty imitant la voix de Bruce Springsteen dans We are the World.
  • L'épisode s'inspire d’un drame similaire : en , à Odessa (Texas) un bébé, Jessica McClure, était tombé dans un puits de 30 centimètres de diamètre et 6 mètres de profondeur ; les sauveteurs ont réussi à creuser en moins de 58 heures un deuxième puits parallèle au premier pour rejoindre la fosse et attraper le bébé.
  • Quand Bart essaie de récupérer sa radio, on peut entendre le thème du Flic de Beverly Hills.
