Google Fi Wireless（グーグル ファイ ワイヤレス | 旧称：Project FiまたはGoogle Fi）は、Googleが提供するアメリカ合衆国のMVNO通信サービス。携帯電話ネットワークとWi-Fiを使用して電話、SMS、モバイルバンドを提供している。Google FiはT-Mobileネットワークを使用しており、 2023年後半現在、米国居住者のみを対象としたサービスとなっている[1]。
このサービスは、2015年4月22日に招待制でNexus 6向けに開始され、 2016年3月7日に一般公開された。 2016年10月4日に、PixelおよびPixel XLスマートフォンを含む、追加のデバイスモデルとの連携を開始した[2]。2018年11月28日、GoogleはProject FiをGoogle Fiに名称変更し、iPhoneの一部を含むより多くのデバイスモデルで動作するようにした[3]。そして、2023年に再びGoogle Fi Wirelessに名称変更された。
歴史
Google Fiは、2015年4月22日にSprintとT-Mobileのネットワーク上で、Nexus 6スマートフォン専用として発表された。サービス開始時の需要が高かったため、ユーザーは招待状を受け取る必要があり、招待状は2015年の夏を通して徐々に配布された。招待システムは2016年3月7日に廃止された。U.S. Cellularは2016年6月8日、Three[4]は2016年7月12日に追加された。2016年10月、Googleは初代PixelおよびPixel XLスマートフォンでの使用機能を追加し、その後、加入者がプランにメンバーを追加できるグループプランを導入した。
2023年2月、US Cellularは提携を解消し、米国でGoogle Fiが利用できるネットワークはT-Mobileのみとなった。
