Google Flights （グーグル フライト）は、Googleを通じて航空券の購入を容易にするオンラインフライト予約検索サービス。 2011年にGoogleが買収後に立ち上げた。その後、Google Travel[1]の機能の一部として統合された。
歴史
主にヨーロッパ、北アメリカ、南アメリカ、東南アジア、オセアニア地域に展開された。
2011年4月、米国司法省反トラスト局は、GoogleによるITA Softwareの7億ドルでの買収を承認した。その後、2011年9月13日、Googleはこの買収で得られたアルゴリズムを使用したGoogle Flightsをリリースした。
機能
Google Flightsの主な機能として、目的地以外の基準に基づいてOpen Search（全文検索）ができる。例として、時間帯と予算の範囲内でフライトを検索すると、Flightsはさまざまな目的地の選択肢を提示することができる。また、目的地を選択すると、Google Flightsは今後12か月間の各日の価格を計算し、グラフまたは表で視覚化する。これにより、目的地への最も安いフライトの日付を簡単に見つけることができる。
Google Flightsでは、フライトによる気候環境への影響を計算することも出来たが、2022年7月に変更され、CO2排出量を除く飛行による地球温暖化への影響はすべて計算から除外された。この動きは、環境活動家や科学界から反発された。
