Ioannes VI Cantacuzenus (Graece Ἰωάννης Καντακουζηνός; natus anno circiter 1292; mortuus die 15 Iunii 1383) fuit imperator Byzantinus et rerum aevo suo gestarum scriptor. Fuit filius Michaelis Cantacuzeni, Moreae despotae, quem e Theodora Palaeologina Angelina genuit.

Demetrius Cydones sub hoc principatu mesazon seu primus minister meruit annis 1347-1354.

Ioannes Cantacuzenus in matrimonium duxit Irenam Asaninam et ex ea genuit:

Imperator fuit ab anno 1347 usque ad 1354. Ab imperio deiectus in Monasterium Sancti Georgii in Manganis recedit. Ibi vitam monasticam suscepit et historiam temporis sui composuit, ab anno 1320 incipiens, ad annum 1356 pergens.
