Latar belakang

Lagu ini didengarkan untuk pertama kali pada pertengahan Juni 2019 dalam Instagram story The Chainsmokers. Pada 25 September, mereka memutarkan untuk pertama kali pertunjukan pada World War Joy di Cincinnati, Ohio.[4] Pada hari berikutnya, mereka menyebutkan lagu ini ke Billboard, mengungkapkan judul. Andrew Taggart, anggota duo berkata, "Yang satunya belum keluar", mengungkapkan bahwa lagu tersebut akan diberi nama "Push My Luck".[5] Kemudian mereka berkata ke publikasi yang sama, Pada Oktober, bahwa lagu ini "tidak bisa dirilis pada waktu untuk tur".
