Bashnet (auch Bashneti) ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Babati in der tansanischen Region Manyara.

Geografie

Bashnet ist ein Landbezirk im Norden von Tansania, der etwa 35 Kilometer Luftlinie westlich der Regionshauptstadt Babati liegt.[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 17.725 Menschen in 3189 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von 73 Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt an fünf Bezirke des Distrikts Babati:[5]

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: Es gibt zwei weiterführende Schulen im Bezirk.[7] Die Guse Secondary School[8] und die Masabeda Secondary School[9] sind staatliche Schulen mit einer Ausbildung bis zur 4. Stufe.
  • Gesundheitseinrichtungen: In der Gemeinde Bashnet liegen ein Privatkrankenhaus[10] und ein staatliches Gesundheitszentrum,[11] in Guse[12] und Long[13] je eine staatliche Ambulanz.
  • Elektrizität, Wasser: Von den 3855 Gebäuden im Bezirk haben 408 einen Stromanschluss von Tanesco, 1723 beziehen Strom aus anderen Quellen wie Solarzellen und Generatoren. In 827 Gebäuden gibt es einen Wasseranschluss (Stand 2022).[14]
  • Gebäudenutzung: Von den 168 Gebäuden, die nicht für Wohnzwecke genutzt werden, gehören 65 religiösen Gemeinschaften, sind 33 Geschäftslokale, 26 öffentliche Gebäude wie Schulen und Gesundheitseinrichtungen, 20 Warenlager, 14 Bürogebäude, 5 Gewerbebetriebe, 3 Gästehäuser, 2 Hotels und je eines ist eine industrielle Anlage und ein Diplomatengebäude (Stand 2022).[15]
