Boay (auch Baoy) ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Babati in der tansanischen Region Manyara.

Geografie

Boay ist ein Landbezirk im Norden von Tansania, der etwa 20 Kilometer Luftlinie südlich der Regionshauptstadt Babati liegt.[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 6598 Menschen in 1473 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von 78 Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Norden an den Distrikt Babati (TC), im Südwesten an den Distrikt Hanang, im Südosten an die Region Dodoma und sonst an drei Bezirke des Distrikts Babati:[5]

Gliederung

Der Bezirk besteht aus drei Gemeinden (Swahili Mtaa) mit elf Orten (Swahili Kitongoji):[6]

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: Es gibt keine weiterführende Schule im Bezirk.[7]
  • Gesundheitseinrichtungen: In der Gemeinde Boay liegt eine staatliche Ambulanz.[8]
  • Elektrizität, Wasser: Von den 1974 Gebäuden im Bezirk haben 133 einen Stromanschluss von Tanesco, 642 beziehen Strom aus anderen Quellen wie Solarzellen und Generatoren. In 165 Gebäuden gibt es einen Wasseranschluss (Stand 2022).[9]
  • Gebäudenutzung: Von den 111 Gebäuden, die nicht für Wohnzwecke genutzt werden, sind 32 Warenlager, 30 Geschäftslokale, gehören 18 religiösen Gemeinschaften, sind 16 öffentliche Gebäude wie Schulen und Gesundheitseinrichtungen, 6 Bürogebäude, 6 Gewerbebetriebe, 3 Hotels und je eines ist ein Gästehaus und ein industrieller Betrieb (Stand 2022).[10]
