Secheda ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Babati in der tansanischen Region Manyara.

Geografie

Secheda ist ein ländlicher Bezirk im Norden von Tansania, der etwa 50 Kilometer Luftlinie westlich der Regionshauptstadt Babati liegt. Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 16.630 Menschen in 2918 Haushalten[2] auf einer Fläche von 149 Quadratkilometern.[3]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Nordwesten und im Norden an den Distrikt Mbulu, im Südwesten, im Süden und im Südosten an den Distrikt Hanang und sonst an zwei Bezirke des Distrikts Babati:[4]

Der Bezirk besteht aus vier Gemeinden (Swahili Mtaa) mit 14 Orten (Swahili Kitongoji):[5]

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: Es gibt eine weiterführende Schule im Bezirk.[6] Die Ufana Secondary School ist eine staatliche Schule, die Jugendliche bis zur 4. Stufe ausbildet.[7]
  • Elektrizität, Wasser: Von den 3523 Gebäuden im Bezirk haben 42 einen Stromanschluss von Tanesco, 1587 beziehen Strom aus anderen Quellen wie Solarzellen und Generatoren. In 429 Gebäuden gibt es einen Wasseranschluss (Stand 2022).[8]
  • Gebäudenutzung: Von den 267 Gebäuden, die nicht für Wohnzwecke genutzt werden, sind 138 Geschäftslokale, gehören 70 religiösen Gemeinschaften, sind 39 öffentliche Gebäude wie Schulen und Gesundheitseinrichtungen, 9 Hotels, 7 Bürogebäude, 5 Warenlager, 5 Gewerbebetriebe, 2 Gästehäuser und eines ist ein Diplomatengebäude (Stand 2022).[9]
