Garawja ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Hanang in der tansanischen Region Manyara.

Geografie

Garawja ist ein Landbezirk im Norden von Tansania. Er liegt etwa 45 Kilometer Luftlinie nordwestlich der Distrikthauptstadt Katesh.[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 7036 Menschen in 1142 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von 78 Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Norden an den Distrikt Mbulu und sonst an vier Bezirke des Distrikts Hanang:[5]

Gliederung

Der Bezirk besteht aus drei Gemeinden (Swahili Mtaa) und neun Orten (Swahili Kitongoji):[6]

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: Es gibt keine weiterführende Schule im Bezirk.[7]
  • Elektrizität, Wasser: Von den 1514 Gebäuden im Bezirk haben 52 einen Stromanschluss von Tanesco, 327 beziehen Strom aus anderen Quellen wie Solarzellen und Generatoren. In 4 Gebäuden gibt es einen Wasseranschluss (Stand 2022).[8]
  • Gebäudenutzung: Von den 132 Gebäuden, die nicht für Wohnzwecke genutzt werden, sind 51 Geschäftslokale, gehören 39 religiösen Gemeinschaften, sind 19 öffentliche Gebäude wie Schulen und Gesundheitseinrichtungen, 11 Lagerhäuser, 8 Gewerbebetriebe, 4 Hotels und 2 Bürogebäude (Stand 2022).[9]
