Lage der Gemeinde Pallone in der Provinz Biella

Pollone ist eine italienische Gemeinde in der Provinz Biella (BI), Region Piemont.

Lage und Einwohner

Die 1958 Einwohner (Stand 31. Dezember 2024) zählende Gemeinde Pollone liegt rund 7 Kilometer westlich von der Provinzhauptstadt Biella. Ein Teil des Sondernaturschutzgebiet des Parks Burcina liegt auf dem Gemeindegebiet von Pollone.

Die Nachbargemeinden sind Biella, Fontainemore, Lillianes, Occhieppo Superiore und Sordevolo.

Verkehrsanbindung

Bis zur nächsten Ein- und Ausfahrt bei Quincinetto auf die westlich gelegende Autobahn A5 sind es rund 30 Kilometer. Zur Einfahrt Ivrea weiter südlich sind es ebenfalls 30 Kilometer. Auch zur Auffahrt zur Verbindungsautobahn A4/A5 sind es 30 Kilometer.

Mit dem Bahnhof im nahen Biella San Paolo (Stazione di Biella San Paolo) hat die Gemeinde Verbindung nach Santhià und nach Novara, dort hat sie an beiden Orten Anschluss an das italienische Fernbahnnetz.

Sehenswürdigkeiten

Eine große Touristenattraktion ist der Naturpark Burcina, der zum Teil bereits im 19. Jahrhundert angelegt wurde und 1935 durch die Gemeinde Biella erweitert wurde.

Fussball

Vom 20. Mai bis zum 16. Juni 1980 empfing die Gemeinde Pollone die Italienische Fußballnationalmannschaft zum Trainingslager für die Europameisterschaft 1980, die in Italien stattfand.[2]

  • Alberto Maria De Agostini (1883–1960), Salesianer Don Boscos und Missionar, der zudem als leidenschaftlicher Bergsteiger, Forscher, Geograf, Ethnograf, Fotograf und Filmdokumentator bekannt wurde.
