Tlawi ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Mbulu (TC) in der tansanischen Region Manyara.

Geografie

Tlawi ist ein ländlicher Bezirk im Norden von Tansania. Er liegt südwestlich der Distrikthauptstadt Mbulu. Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 8936 Menschen in 1621 Haushalten[2] auf einer Fläche von 62 Quadratkilometern.[3]

Der Bezirk grenzt im Südosten an das Mbulu Forstreservat, im Westen und im Süden an den Distrikt Mbulu und sonst an drei Bezirke des Distrikts Mbulu (TC):[4]

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: Es gibt eine weiterführende Schule im Bezirk.[6] Die Tlawi Secondary School ist eine staatliche Schule, die nur von Mädchen besucht wird. Die Anzahl der Schülerinnen stieg von 39 im Jahr 2016 auf 240 im Jahr 2025.[7]
  • Gesundheitseinrichtungen: In der Gemeinde Tlawi liegt ein von der römisch-katholischen Kirche geführtes Gesundheitszentrum.[8]
  • Elektrizität, Wasser: Von den 2084 Gebäuden im Bezirk haben 186 einen Stromanschluss von Tanesco, 613 beziehen Strom aus anderen Quellen wie Solarzellen und Generatoren. In 466 Gebäuden gibt es einen Wasseranschluss (Stand 2022).[9]
  • Gebäudenutzung: Von den 124 Gebäuden, die nicht für Wohnzwecke genutzt werden, sind 41 öffentliche Gebäude wie Schulen und Gesundheitseinrichtungen, 33 Geschäftslokale, gehören 31 religiösen Gemeinschaften, sind 12 Bürogebäude, 6 Warenlager, 4 Gewerbebetriebe, 2 Gästehäuser und je eines ist ein Hotel und eine industrielle Anlage (Stand 2022).[10]
