O Exército do Aire é unha das tres ramas en que se dividen as Forzas Armadas de España. Conxuntamente coa Armada e o Exército de Terra, ten asignado por medio do artigo oitavo da Constitución Española a misión de garantir a soberanía e independencia de España, defender a súa integridade territorial e o ordenamento constitucional.

Organización e estrutura

Organización territorial

A organización territorial do Exército do Aire é a seguinte:

  • I rexión aérea. Zonas central e noroeste da Península Ibérica, con Capitanía xeneral en Madrid.
  • II rexión aérea. Zona sur, con Capitanía xeneral en Sevilla.
  • III rexión aérea. Zona nordeste e Baleares, con Capitanía xeneral en Zaragoza.
  • Zona Aérea de Canarias, con sede nas Palmas.

Mandos aéreos

Cada rexión aérea é sede dun dos mandos aéreos. O xefe de cada mando é tamén capitán xeneral da rexión aérea correspondente.

  • O Mando Aéreo de Combate (Macom), en Madrid.
  • O Mando Aéreo Táctico (Matac), en Sevilla.
  • O Mando Aéreo de Transporte (Matra), en Zaragoza.
  • O Mando Aéreo das Canarias (Macan), nas Palmas.
